Jennifer J. Maxwell
Jennifer J. Maxwell concentrates her practice in workers’ compensation defense and litigation defense.
Ms. Maxwell was born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago. She attended Loras College and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Writing and a minor in Political Science. Ms. Maxwell earned her law degree at The John Marshall Law School in 2009. While attending law school, Ms. Maxwell was an Articles Editor for the Executive Board of The John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law and her article, Making a Federal Case for Copyrighting Stage Directions, was published in 2008. Ms. Maxwell served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Themis N. Karnezis of the First District Illinois Appellate Court in the spring of 2008. Ms. Maxwell was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2009.
Following her admission to the bar, Ms. Maxwell was Counsel for Travelers Insurance, focusing her litigation practice in the areas of workers compensation, general liability and construction defense. She received the Rising Star Award at the Travelers Trial Advocacy School in 2010. She was also recognized with the Travelers Business Organization Award for her partnership and work with insured clients. Ms. Maxwell continued her workers’ compensation defense practice at a Chicago firm before joining Power & Cronin in 2015.
