John F. Power
John F. Power concentrates in insurance law and insurance defense litigation with a focus in the area of workers' compensation defense.
Mr. Power was born in Chicago, Illinois, and earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Tulane University in 1972. In 1976, he earned a Juris Doctor Degree from I.I.T./Chicago-Kent College of Law and was admitted to the Illinois Bar, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1976. Mr. Power's other licenses include: United States Supreme Court, 1979; United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar, 1988; State of Wisconsin Supreme Court, 1989; United States District Court, Central District of Illinois, 1993; and State of Tennessee Supreme Court, 1998.
Mr. Power is a member of Illinois State Bar Association, Wisconsin State Bar Association, International Association of Defense Counsel, and Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of the Illinois Self-Insurers Association and Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association
Mr. Power served as the Advisor to Lead Negotiator for Management for the Senate Republican Economic Development Package from 1993 to 1995, and as the Advisor to Lead Negotiator for the Governor's Summit on Workers' Compensation from 1991 to 1993. He was appointed by Illinois Governor Jim Edgar as a member of Project Heart from 1991 to 1993, and he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Adoption Information Center of Illinois from 1993 to 1997.
