Lloyd McCumber practices in the areas of litigation defense and insurance defense, with concentration in Worker’s Compensation defense.  Mr. McCumber was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, graduating with honors in 1985. Mr. McCumber earned his Juris Doctor degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law, graduating in 1988.

Mr. McCumber was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1988, and also to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where he is admitted to the trial bar. He was admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois in 2003, where he is also a member of the trial bar. He was admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 1989.

Lloyd joined Power and Cronin in 2017.  In addition to an extensive practice before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, he has jury trial experience in the areas of auto liability, premises liability, liquor liability and intellectual property defense. He also counsels employers in the area of general employment law.  He has been a frequent presenter to employer and insurer groups on Worker’s Compensation issues and has served the Illinois Worker’s Compensation Commission as a presenting speaker at the Commission’s arbitrator training seminar.  He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Winnebago County Bar Association, and takes pride in having successfully represented the interests of Illinois employers and insurers for more than thirty years.

Lloyd has been married to his wife Kristine for 29 years and they have two grown children.  In his free time, Lloyd enjoys time with family, shooting sports and golf.
